Jill Furmanovsky receives the Abbey Road ICON Award

Jill Furmanovsky attended the Abbey Road Music Photography Awards to receive the ICON Award.

Jill expressed her gratitude, saying, "It's a true honour to receive such a prestigious award from Abbey Road, a place that holds a special place in my heart. I've had the incredible opportunity to photograph some of the world’s greatest musicians—whether on tour, during concerts, or in iconic locations like Abbey Road Studios. Sometimes, I still can't believe my luck. Many thanks to the MPAs for supporting the art of music photography and inspiring the next generation."

The ICON Award celebrates Jill’s long-standing connection with Abbey Road.Throughout her career she has captured some of Abbey Road's most iconic moments, including Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’ recording session (1975) and Oasis recording ‘Be Here Now’ (1997). Years later, she became the studio’s first-ever 'Photographer in Residence' (2017–2018) and joined the judging panel for the inaugural MPAs in 2022, continuing her mission of encouraging emerging talent and inspiring new generations of music photographers.
